Warriors of Woden Manifesto
The Warriors of Woden are a gaming community with a focus on games that feature teamwork, tactics and realism. We strive to overcome great challenges through decisive action and teamwork. We fight with honor and earn our glory through a display of skill. We will offer respect to all until they prove themselves unworthy.
Our core principles
- Victory through cooperation and coordination.
- Respect and honor before individual glory.
- Leadership earned through action and respect.
- Continuous Improvement.
- Real life comes first.
Victory through cooperation and coordination.
“The Aipha of our world hunt in pods to bring down much larger prey”
We seek out victory not through the actions of legendary individuals, but as a decisive collective. Each member of a team, a fiber in a muscle, each team a part of a fist acting in unison to deliver a decisive blow to foes infallible to them as individuals.
Respect and honor before individual glory.
“Are you sure you don't want someone who can shoot straight, sir?”
Every brother of battle shall be treated with a minimum of respect. Those who would disgrace themselves in such excessive regularity to be worthy of no respect from any of their peers, and those who show their peers no respect have no place here. And when fighting both brothers in a battle of pride or a foreign enemy, honor comes before victory. The blatant exploitation of game/communication bugs shall not be tolerated.
Leadership earned through action and respect.
“Can you die later, sir? It just isn't a good time now.”
Any man who can convince up to three others may lead them into battle as a team. If you want to lead then prove to others you’re worth listening to. If you can, then choose up to three of them. Those who can consistently fill a team and yield results with their team can move on to advance up the ladder of leadership.
Continuous improvement.
“And that's why explosives need special training.”
Everyone should always be aware that they will be unlikely to do anything flawlessly. We should strive to improve upon our weaknesses. We should always be open minded when they’re pointed out by our brothers. It’s important that we point out these flaws to each other and that we’re both constructive and concise when doing so. Comedy is one of the many ways we hold a lense to an observed issue in a more palatable way. It should be expected that when mistakes, especially major mistakes, or consistent flaws appear they will likely become a running joke. But these jokes will only be funny as long as the flaw continues to exist. So should we find ourselves the source of a running joke that we do not enjoy, it is upto us to invalidate the joke.
Real life comes first.
We don’t require you to show up everyday at a specified time. It’s ok if you don’t show up to a major event because something irl came up. It’s ok if you have to leave mid-mission because of irl reasons. Real life takes priority period. Just make sure to communicate with us, if you can’t show up, let us know as soon as you can. If you have to leave mid-mission make sure to communicate it to your team members and get acknowledgement from at least one person whenever possible. But at the end of the day, don’t be afraid to put irl above video games, it will always be considered more important.
